I'm trying to shift from nonprofit/education/social work to corporate DEI. i was offered a director level dei role at a nonprofit but am advancing in the process for a tech dei role that would pay twice as much and in the six figure range. the nonprofit wants my response this week and i have my second round interview with the tech company tmrw. the tech company is aware of my offer and expedited me to the next stage when i shared that.
would you take the nonprofit role and use it as a springboard for corporate dei (I've done dei work that's secondary to my past roles but being director of dei would be a huge upgrade)or keep moving forward with the corporate search (I've been getting some traction with my existing experience which makes me feel it may be doable to jump off from this point).
tldr: take a lower paying job now that would srsly beef up my resume for an eventual pivot or take a risk and keep my eyes on the prize of a role that I'm less qualified for?
