How to use AI safely in Programming Assignments

Post Body

Hey I know im cheating myself but i promise to catch up once i get some free time. I joined Uni late due to some complications that was out of my hand and having trouble in trying to catch up with the course work. Im thinking about using AI to do my first assignment. I am learning from it. For example- i dont just blindly copy whatever it gives out, but carefully read every line and understand what it means before i put it in. I also renamed every function in the code to a different name so it isnt an exact replica of the generated one. I know this unethical and not fair to the other students but im having such a hard time trying to catch up with the other classmates.

Any guides or warnings i should know before i submit it? Or perhaps something to be aware of?

Thanks
