Can I talk to the disabled moms for a minute?
Post Body

Moms with disabilities, especially mental illness, how do you balance your needs alongside your child’s? I am currently in EMDR therapy, seeing a psychiatric provider, and working on losing all the weight I’ve gained in adulthood.

I’ve been struggling for 5 years now, and I have a 4 year old. My mental health was so bad for the first three years of his life that I don’t remember them. I was basically just supervising him and making sure his basic needs were met. That was all I could do.

Even now, I still struggle. I’m impatient, I don’t have enough energy to keep up with him all the time, and I just feel like I’m failing at keeping up on the house.

How do you manage your time and your needs in order to be the best you can for your kiddo?
