SAHD husband and smoking weed
I’ll preface this by saying I have absolutely nothing against weed and used to smoke a significant amount before my daughter was born.
My husband is a SAHD. I knew he smoked weed but did not realize the extent until recently. After he quit in May/June of this year, he admitted he was smoking about an ounce a week, and would all day with our daughter and before driving her to activities (he would go in the other room).
He’s now started again about 2-3 weeks ago but is vaping. He was hiding it at first but then admitted it when I asked if he had been drinking, as he’s an alcoholic and has been on and off the wagon for the past 2 years. So far, our 5 year old has walked in twice, and asked what the smell/smoke was. I expressed concern because I’m afraid he’ll be driving around our 5 year old and 2 month old after vaping. He said he would not do that. I walked downstairs today about 20 minutes before he had to bring our 5 year old to an activity and he was vaping.
I’ll add that in my state, DUI drugs is considered the same as DUI liquor and he already has 3 DUI liquor convictions. A fourth DUI would subject him to mandatory jail time.
Am I overreacting for setting a no weed boundary? He told me last night he would only be vaping after his parenting duties for the night and not less than 24 hours later he’s smoking during the day, prior to bringing our daughter to an activity.
