My daughter is a very typically developing almost 3 year old. She's incredibly active, can count to ten, draws smiley faces like a pro, and is right on track for potty training.
Except...she hates people! When an old lady says hello to her at the store, she screams and runs away. We took her to a kids event at the library and she chose to hang her head and stand in the corner instead of dancing with the other children. If another kiddo runs up to her she will tell them to back off. She does eventually warm up to people who she sees regularly (thank heavens for a decent babysitter), and she adores structured classroom style settings where she can do activities with other children. But don't you dare walk up to her and say something nice, because she will snarl at you.
What should I be doing about this, if anything? Is it a phase? Stranger danger is one thing, but this attitude is another!
