I realize this is pretty low stakes, but I'm annoyed!
So far in 2023, we have had SEVEN dress up days at my son's school. This same school disallowed Halloween costumes to avoid putting undue financial pressure on poorer parents, and to prevent their kids from having to explain why they weren't in costume. Nevermind that I don't have costumes for book characters, cowboys, movie stars, or the other themes the school has come up with.
Now my 5 year old has to dress up as his dream job, which I'm sure would be precious, but Im tired of having to come up with another outfit, or again be the parent who doesn't participate.
I'm tempted to let him go to school in his Halloween costume, a skeleton, which technically he will be one day, as protest.
