Moissanite passed the diamond test

I thought my new ring would go to the yellow section on my diamond tester but it went all the way to the highest level. Is this normal? Even the small stones on the side quickly got to the highest level. I know it is based on the hardness of the stone.

It doesn't test the hardness but the thermal conductivity of the material.
