I feel like Iâm in the minority here, but I like the changes to Moira. I think it will take some tweaking to get right but otherwise the premise is good. It makes Moira more viable outside of being a healbot or a âdps Moiraâ youâre picking which targets to reduce damage to get the heat off your team, itâs another form of support that is new and no other character does. Reaper dives back line, hit him with enfeebling orb. Doom about to go for a punch, hit him with enfeebling orb.
Before Moira felt like you were constantly tracking ults so you could fade/survive them to then help your team if they manage to survive too. Her lack of defensive ult makes her feel like a passive bystander at times. Now, Moira can contribute to shutting down ults or enemy dives more effectively. Her play style may have changed slightly for some, or maybe even drastically but âoldâ Moira wasnât keeping up with the rest of the supports.
I do think the new ability will take some tweaking. Changing numbers, tweaking itâs hitbox, etc but I think they are heading in a cool direction. Moira is now a menace for tracer, genji, reaper dives because sheâs not only hard to kill herself, but she can slap you with the forb and make sure her other support can sustain without having to burn her healing orb or juice. Or you can play more front line and mitigate the damage of the enemy tank and frontline dps.
It takes time for hero changes to feel right, and blizzard doesnât always get it perfect but I donât think theyâve ruined Moira and I donât think they made the wrong choice here.
