Good spots to use a metal detector?

I recently got a metal detector bc I've always wanted one and the deal I found online was too goo to pass up. But I haven't gotten a chance to use it for real yet out in the wild looking for treasures and stuff.. Can anyone think of some good spots around town that I should try and explore with my metal detector? Or maybe even some spots out of town that might be great to explore with a metal detector?
