TL;DR: When wearing a headscarf in a style that can be associated with Muslim women, should I also follow other clothing guidelines that Muslim women follow?

I’ve been doing research on head coverings and modest dressing but I’m having trouble when it comes to putting an outfit together.

I find that I prefer wearing a head scarf in a style that is typically associated with Muslim women. The thing I run into is whether I should follow the guidelines that Muslim women follow or should I dress in a way that I consider modest. I have clothes that can cover me from the neck down but most of those clothes cling to my body in some way or can only go with certain pieces. For example I have some long sleeve shirts I could wear under certain things but the shirts are tight to the point you can make out the shape of my arms.

I am not Muslim but I understand that wearing a headscarf in this way while also wearing somewhat form fitting clothing could come off wrong. I also understand that no one necessarily owns a headscarf style. I guess I might be answering my own question but yeah.

I hope I worded my post correctly and I hope I don’t offend. I’ve been lurking on this sub for a while and tried to find similar questions but I couldn’t so I wanted to ask to be safe. Thank you and apologies in advance. 💖
