Is multiplayer canon?

I remember in mwr and mwll the new seasons had cinematics that were canon (I think?) to the main story, and black ops Cold War did the same. Is that the case for mwlll? I thought it was with the first season but since season 2 theme is zombies is that still the case? Are zombies now a thing in the main story?
