Every other player I see is stuck at level 55

Literally every other player I’ve encountered online, whether it be standard multiplayer or zombies, is capped at level 55 since the start of Season One. Meanwhile, I’m level 102. Is prestige only for those who buy the battle pass? I can’t imagine that I’m the only player I’ve encountered since season 1 who got the BP, if that’s the case. Are all the other players seeing me as level 55 as well? Is this a glitch? What the hell am I missing here?
