Some piece of shit linked their STEAM account to my COD account last night. Got an email from Activision saying "your steam account with the username pohlsonlvk206145 was linked from your Call of Duty account".
I don't have a Steam account, I play on Xbox. I'm guessing they stole my account because I have all of the base camos unlocked.
Now the issue is that I have no idea how to access this account online. I tried logging in with the same email that I got the notice from, but it ended up creating a new account for me and wasn't linked to my original account. Doesn't make sense. And I can't login through Xbox because Activision's website is garbage.
I submitted a ticket, but I don't even have access to my original account anymore so I don't know how this is going to work out. Pretty pissed considering how many hours I had put into this account the last few years
work with technical support. Have you ever purchased anything for it? You can verify using credit cards and personal info.

You should be ok, support will help you just have to be patient, it can be long and tedious. They will ask for documents, screenshots etc. Any type of transactions that occurred, try to be ready with the dates of when you made transactions and the name/number on the cards used. All of that will help you build your case.
