Please tell me what is the point of cheating/ hacking. Is the life of those individuals so meaningless they feel the need to cheat on a videogame?

I am truly fed up with the amount of cheaters/ hackers infesting every lobby, to the point where I am constantly leaving matches half way through. I can't imagine why they do it, why spending all that money and effort for what? The hollow satisfaction of amassing an unrealistic amount of kills? If these subjects are teenagers, I wonder what sort of unpleasant adults they will grow up to be.

As much as I love the ability to play with my friends on different platforms forced crossplay has ruined so many games. I really wish crossplay was opt in only and not the default setting.
