So, after having been testing a Fevered Visions counterburn deck for the past week that's been doing extremely well, one card has stood above the rest - yes, that would be Deflecting Palm. This card does so much for so cheap that I'm surprised in our current meta it sees almost no play.
Having trouble with cranial plated etched champions hitting for 9?
Having trouble with Vines'd infect creatures hitting you for 10 or more?
Having trouble with 15/15 Tentacle creatures or 10/10 indestructibles from Tron?
This card has won me so many games I had no business being able to win. Even many of the fair decks are packing large creatures (see: Nahiri control, 5/6 or 6/7 Tarmogoyfs or 5/5 Raging Ravines, Tasigurs, Rhino's, a better counterspell against burn, etc.).
The card is extremely good against burn, and let's you easily win races. At the very least, this card should be seeing 1-2 play in WRx deck sideboards.
Perhaps I'm a little too high on the card right now because of its performance and role in counter-burn, but it's a much more versatile spell than it's given credit for and given that the WRx shells are all capable of racing this puts another notch in its favor.
A few tips though: Be careful with creatures that have double-strike, as it will only "redirect" first strike damage, not all of the damage.
It will only "redirect" one trigger from Valakut, and while you'd think it'd be a good trump to Lightning Storm out of Ad Naus, be aware they'll have 3 Pact of Negations if they go off.
Others experience with the card (if you happen to have played it outside of WR/Naya Burn even better) feel free to chime in as well!
