Scryb Ranger seems like a card that could do some useful tricks in addition to being a good surprise blocker against blue decks. However the card's playability relies on its synergy, and the following were my best ideas:
Use with Mangara of Corondor to exile two permanents (untap with first tap on the stack)
Use with Deathrite Shaman, Bloom Tender, Joraga Treespeaker or other mana producing creatures for enormous mana ramping.
Although the ramping could be strong and the double Vindicate is cute, I don't think either of these synergies are enough to make Scryb Ranger worth a slot in the deck. Are there synergies that I have missed, or are these synergies on their own powerful enough to see play in the competitive modern environment?
