ONE cards and the decks that played them:

It's Tuesday, ONE has arrived and compleation has been, er, compleated. So far, it's about what people expected, with one notable exception. Amulet Titan pilots have a few new toys with The Mycosynth Gardens and Green Sun's Twilight; Hammertime got Skrelv, its hive, and Kemba; and Zoo is trying a few things, including Kaito, Dancing Shadow(!). I also recommend checking out some of the challenge results from the weekend, where you'll find, among other things, Mill playing the new [[Jace, the Perfected Mind]] and Creativity cheating out [[Atraxa, Grand Unifier]]. I've tried to tag cards alongside the decks that played them, but if I missed any, they should be in the other list because a computer made that.

As for that exception, one card that's conspicuously absent from any results so far is [[Venerated Rotpriest]]. While I would have been surprised (and a little concerned) if a brand new combo deck was suddenly top 8'ing challenges, it's equally strange to not see it in the league results. If nothing else, it seems like enough people were excited about it that someone could have run hot for five rounds. I'll keep an eye out, of course, but for now, it seems like poison storm isn't making much of an impact on the format.

A slightly abbreviated spice corner, because I didn't want to include everything with a ONE card:

  • Bw Reanimator | Like I've said, I always like to point out mono-color (or mostly mono-color) decks, and Hamuraii has a cool one. Half-scam, half-reanimator, with a sideboard [[Wispmare]].
  • Sorcery Coffers | Walri brought a wild one! If you only check out one deck from this dump, make it this one. I think the only actual win conditions are Torment of Hailfire or Umori beatdown.
  • Mardu Pox | Carrying the torch for Lingering Souls, MichelangeloPira used their other hand to swing the Sword of Forge and Frontier. I can't claim to know much about pox decks as an archetype, but I do know that Timeless Dragon and Kolaghan's Command are rad.
