Standard disclaimer that league results dumps are not indicative of the general metagame. They are selected for variety and not proportional representation.

This is the last set of results before ONE modern, though if you look closely, you'll see some ONE cards in LFC's list. I'm assuming these results must have been generated shortly after the set officially dropped on MTGO, because I'm sure people are trying more things than a sneaky Skrelv in Hammertime. [[Black Sun's Twilight]] was my prerelease MVP, but I'd be surprised to see it making waves in modern. At any rate, I'm excited to see the results over the weekend, especially now that there are so many challenges. However, there are lots of sweet decks that probably won't make it to the top tables of a challenge, so tune in next Tuesday for the best of the rest!

Spicy/Interesting Decks & Techs

  • 4c Delirium | Any time I have to pause on a list to go, "Wait, what could they possibly be doing with that card?" it's a fast track to the spice corner. TuggaNaxos got me with both [[Irencrag Feat]] and [[Emrakul, the Promised End]], which is a heck of a turn 4.
  • Mono-B Midrange | Whenever an unusual deck shows up in multiple dumps in a row, I like to look to see what the pilot changed. In this case though, illwill552 just ran back the exact same 75. Hats off to you, illwill552
  • RG Wish Titanshift | stefanocanclini has a variation on the Wish Scapeshift list from last time, forgoing countermagic in favor of more speed. They count to lucky 7, wish upon a star (sideboard), and all their dreams (Valakut triggers) come true (target their opponent's face).
  • Lantern Control | For all you whippersnappers who aren't in the know, AngledLuffa has been playing Lantern Control since honest to god 2016. I just thought about how much older I am now than I was in 2016 and was instantly skeletonized.
  • Mono-R Saga | Similar to the mono-white decks we've seen, Middeterminist is using Power Conduit and Hex Parasite to get extra value out of sagas. Presumably, the big play is to draw a lot of extra cards with Flame of Keld, but I could see repeating the last chapter being useful too. I wonder if it's too cute to try it with something like [[Ghirapur Aether Grid]].
  • Mono-4s Obosh | I know I've said it before, but I still want MHayashi to run a 12 card sideboard for maximum fours.
