Standard disclaimer that league results dumps are not indicative of the general metagame. They are selected for variety and not proportional representation. I'm going to have to change how I assign colors to decks, since Haywire Mite is adding a green tinge everywhere. Apologies if I got some colors wrong!

We had a slightly above average results set to close out the month, both in terms of quantity (65 lists!) and subjective quality (two decks playing [[Arcades, the Strategist]]!). There's a lot of brewing and innovating happening all across the tier list, and that makes modern a fun format to follow. I could have easily picked another half dozen decks for the spice corner, and I'm sure there will be more cool lists next week. There might be a few cards pushing the limits of power and ubiquity, but nothing really damning. I don't really have anything else to say that isn't a variation of "hey, this is neat" so it's probably time to go to the spice corner!

Spice/other decks I wanted to talk about:

  • UW Blink | Time to consult the magic 8-ball. Is Curryvore too cool to play Emeria in their Sun Titan deck? Signs point to yes.
  • Bant Walls | Maybe this deck should be called Wallherder, since Pray4pirri is running 3 copies of everyone's favorite repeating flickerer. Either way, it's a treat to see Arcades in the results.
  • Mono-W Power Conduit | Prodigy_J28 picked up the Power Conduit deck from the last dump and said, "Needs more Conduit." I wanted to highlight this list again to share an interesting trick I learned last time. If you remove a lore counter from Urza's Saga with its third ability on the stack, the ability will resolve and the Saga will stick around to do it again next turn. This is because the state-based action that checks the number of counters and sacs the saga doesn't happen unless it doesn't have any chapter abilities on the stack.
  • Wg Martyr Hawk | Here we have a classic budget deck, made (at least partially) unbudget thanks to Solitude, Ranger-Captain of Eos, and a green splash. Things like this are why I understand people's disdain for how the Horizons sets have changed the format. Having the best removal spells be mythic creatures instead of just uncommons adds such a tax, which isn't helped by the fact that the Prismatic Ending and Leyline Binding work best alongside an expensive manabase. Sorry, Gobo2009, that I spent your blurb time being an old man yelling at clouds! Your deck is cool!
  • 5c Superfriends | "Carth?" people ask. "Carth!" Jay728 shouts from the middle of a crowd of planeswalkers.
  • GW Valuetown | DreamPuffz brought a modernized version of the old GW Valuetown lists with some interesting twists. Eldritch Evolution turns any mana dork into a 3 drop, and any 3 drop into [[Titania, Protector of Argoth]]. Fun fact: if you drop the Zuran Orb, you could run Obosh as a companion, and it's not strictly uncastable. I'm not saying it's a good idea, but the possibility is there.
  • Jund Anvil | daibloXSC probably doesn't know that I'm a sucker for building around a particular card ([[Oni-Cult Anvil]]) and getting value from sacrificing my own stuff, but that's exactly what this list does, so it's a spice corner shoo-in.
  • Bant Walls | jamiieJR delivered a second Arcades list, this one more combo-focused. [[Staff of Domination]] goes infinite with any creature who can tap for 5 or more mana, letting you draw your deck, tap your opponent's team, and give everything haste and buttfight with [[Walking Bulwark]].
