Question about a low battery

My wife and I are trying to decide between a model Y and a 3. We test drove a Y about a week ago and it was a performance model. It had plenty of battery and when we stepped on the gas it was amazing and threw us back in the seat.

Fast forward to this week when we thought maybe we wanted a 3 instead. We decided to test drive a 3 and Y back to back to make a final decision. We did the 3 first. Since we knew we would probably not be getting a performance model, we asked to test drive the long range versions of the cars. The 3 test drive was great and when we pressed the gas we felt the speed.

We test drove the Y next, and we took a long range model this time around. While the car was fast, we realized the speed was not nearly as fast. We knew it would be less than the performance model we test drove last week but it seemed off. But then we noticed that the charge on the car we were given was in the red and only had about 10 miles left. We finished our drive and took it back.

I am wondering if maybe it was not giving it all cause it was almost dead and was trying to save power (the Bluetooth also wasn’t working but I am now wondering if this was another power saving technique)? Or did we have a weird experience cause we drove the 3 first.

With that said, the Y was still amazing and still had some pep. I can’t wait to get my Tesla. I am just more curious than anything.
