Messages and thoughts from an average American, angry and pissed about the state of our world and our politicians.

Greetings, fellow patriots.

Greetings to all who may stumble across this first post on this blog of mine. My name is model-putrid. For all my life, I've lived in the town of Machias in the Atlantic Commonwealth. Down here, I think you'd struggle to find a single person who cares about politics. And why would they? Time and time again, Democrats and Republicans have promised big and never delivered. What's changed? Nothing. In last year's census, 35.2% of people here in Machias live in poverty, which includes over 40% of children.

Sadly, these shocking statistics are all too common across our country, especially in communities that disproportionately suffer from government neglect - namely, areas that are rural or regional, and areas that are disproportionately African-American or native American. Politicians quibble about the details, but at the end of the day, left or right, red or blue, they all propagate the same system that keeps them up and the American people down.

Over the past few days, I've been working - mainly by myself, but with input from friends and colleagues - to introduce two bills to the Atlantic Commonwealth assembly. Not as a Republican, a Democrat, or a Green, but as my own person - an independent patriot who wants to put America and Americans first.

I'll tell you more about the details of these acts when they are read in the Assembly, but they are, respectively, the Investigate Regional Light Rail Resolution and the Indian Language Preservation Act. Both of these areas may seem dissimilar and even quixotic to some, but they are crucially important, and represent some of the most significant failings of the political establishment. Time and time again, our leaders have failed to invest in transport that our communities need and deserve, and they have failed to protect and preserve hundreds of American languages, losing indescribable and indeterminate amount of culture, folklore and history with them.

These are not the entirety of the problems we face, but they are key issues. Addressing them will help the problems our country faces, and our politicians have consistently failed to do so. Other nations and countries have fallen behind America the beautiful in these areas, which sickens me. Sure, our Governors might have the prettiest mansions, but what good does that do when we are failing and crumbling to smaller countries? We should be better. We should have some of the best railways in the world. We should have our native languages cherished and preserved more than any other country. We are not, and it sickens me.

At the end of the day, I do not know what will happen of my legislation. Perhaps it will simply be ignored by the politicians and discarded. But I do hope some people - such as you, my dear reader - take notice. I hope that we, as a state and as a country, can start demanding better. We can start fighting for people in government who work their hardest to put America first.

At least, I hope.
