"I am extremely thankful that the Central Committee have unanimously elected me as General Secretary, and it is a huge honour for me to graciously accept the role. Our Party is fast growing with immense potential, and it is vital we continue to perservere and keep the momentum going for our party and her values. I am pleased to a see a range of members getting involved. But why is our party and its foundations so important?
Well friends, for too long the material conditions of the workers have been an afterthought. I was once a New Zealand Labour Party election candidate and thought that our brand of standing for "Labour" was sufficient. But its failure to address the root causes of issues and inequality has badly let down the people the traditional left claims to represent, and I have come to the conclusion I was initially wrong. Workers, now is the time to throw away the chains of capitalism and answer the call. Come home to the Communist Party. We can only see genuine radical change if it's something we push for here in New Zealand! We may be a small country, but we have a big heart, and while the gross injustice perpetuated by the bourgeoisie seems to continue to dominate the establishment, there must be those who answer the pleas of the workers! We will not take failed compromise for an answer!
We seem to be striking fear into the hearts of the establishment parties. Good. I'm sure we make their blood run cold upon the realisation we will not be servants to their broken capitalism, we will not submit to their way of doing things with backroom deals and corporate interests. We cannot afford to wait for change, we must demand it at the ballot box! Long live the Communist Party, long live the workers of New Zealand."
