When I grew up, I loved balloons, they were so cool. Flying objects which were fun to play with, and helium balloons were even better. I remember when I first got one and I was so confused about why it floated, it really did feel like magic. The experience of kids up and down the countries getting helium balloons is something that can't be replaced.
However the ex-MP for Taranaki has attacked me for something as simple as supporting balloons? Really? Balloons are an important part of celebrations, parties and the like, they make up our culture and sure as hell people will dislike this move from the government. I hope I have Kiwi's on my side when I say, we want our balloons to stay, not to go.
