The New Zealand Labour Party has issued the following statement:

As a condition of joining the Party, the MPs /u/Sylviagony and /u/SoSaturnistic helped spearhead a number of constitutional changes. Many of the proposed changes were clarifications or minor in nature, however many were more substantive, such as enshrining party values within the Party constitution and radically reorganising the Party Executive.

Last evening, a vote finished in favour of instituting a new party constitution. This result is the culmination of a thorough internal process of reform and dialogue about the future of the Party.

Following the adoption of this new constitution, the Party Executive has been reformed and now includes the following individuals:

• Co-leader: the Hon. /u/Youmaton QSO MP

• Co-leader: the Rt Hon. /u/Sylviagony DCNZM MP

• President: /u/SoSaturnistic MP

Our reaffirmed commitment to clear principles will inform the Party as we prepare to present a new vision to the public in the upcoming election. The new Party Executive is in a position to guide this process in the next days and weeks.
