It is important that in these times of troubles, the government deploys a peaceful strategy willing to end the conflict as soon as possible. The Kiwi Party will support all diplomatic actions taken to make a peaceful agreement between these nations.

We will not support, however, any sort of one-sided bias in this conflict. Pro-Fijian statements have been released by both the government and the opposition. The government has said that Tonga must send back their military, despite not sending any military presence to the reef to counteract the Fijian force. They claim however they have sources telling us they will if they do have these sources then why don't you share them with the public, so we can see if you are lying. The opposition has already decided to make a clear pro-Fiji stance, by saying they will meet up with Fijian officials to claim control over the islands. Firstly they are the opposition so they can clearly not do this legally and secondly all they are doing is enabling Fijian nationalism.

The Kiwi Party provides a rational stance, negotiate to stop any war, however, if there was to be a middle ground to settle now, I think that the bias from our government and opposition towards Fiji has already shown that we are unable to be that neutral presence.
