Hello everyone. Thank you all for being here today.
I've been in politics for a pretty long time, and I've been in many different parties. I originally started my career in politics in the Green Party where I quickly received a list seat. Shortly after Socialist Aotearoa was formed and I decided to join it, giving up my seat to fight for what I truly believed in. I quickly became leader of this new party and managed to win a list seat. We worked with the Green Party and Labour Party to form the Official Opposition, but left after some disagreements. The next election we managed to win 2 seats, but I lost my seat. I got elected Speaker, but resigned after a while. Then some mistakes I made back then, which I probably don't need to remind you of, caused the party to fall apart. I left for New Zealand First, along with former Prime Minister AnswerMeNow1, but we both quickly realised this party wasn't the right fit for us, and as such we left to form Te Tawharau. After another short while, AMN left to rejoin the Greens and I was left alone to lead this party, and shortly after I left to join the Electoral Commission. I helped in the Sixth General Election, but afterwards I left. While I enjoyed my time in the Electoral Commission, I felt a need to return to politics, and so I did. I rejoined the Greens and stayed around for a while, but after some time I left and formed Socialist Alliance. I became leader of this party, and I even managed to become Leader of the Opposition, but we quickly declined, and decided to merge back into the Green Party.
All this time across many parties, each with their own unique identity, I have always fought for the same ideals that I believe would help people, those neglected by society, the workers, the poor, minorities. I have achieved some things, failed to achieve others, but I have brought controversial issues up for debate.
But now, after all this time, I am sad to announce that I will be leaving politics. I hope my ideals, the bills I have written, passed or failed, will live on in this country for many years to come. I will be moving forward with my life, and starting a new career somewhere else.
I thank you for your time.
Meta: Mental health's fucked. I resign from all my roles (believe that's just MP, Moderator and Shadow Minister). Might return at some point, but probably not for some time. I'll stick around in the Discord server though.
