"Today's controversy has been a concerning one, and one which highlights the many issues which permeate right to the rotten core of this coalition of chaos. /u/AnswerMeNow1 is now the ex-Prime Minister, and made himself so in a way which will shake confidence in the credibility of the Green Party for many years to come. In many ways, the captain has done the opposite of what he ought to have done. Rather than going down with the ship, /u/AnswerMeNow1 decided to jump the waka and has buddied up with far-right hooligans, revealing his total lack of principles, and his lack of regard for the New Zealand people. One must wonder whether he simply took the role for the title, as he clearly wasn't interested in the responsibility that accompanies it.
"With the influence of /u/alpine- gone in any and every sense, it's now clear that New Zealand First is a party of radicals who can offer nothing in terms of competent and reasonable governance. Their policies are regressive, authoritarian, and economically destructive. Whether it be installing the death penalty, outlawing prostitution, purchasing an aircraft carrier or killing our agricultural industries through export tariffs, New Zealand First are a threat to New Zealand. With /u/Winston_Wilhelmus in a position of power, the only thing New Zealand will be first for is the chopping block. It then reflects extremely poorly on the ex-Prime Minister that he would join such a party, and equally on the Green Party and government, for not just harbouring this person but making them Prime Minister of our great nation.
"Indeed, this whole scandal reflects poorly on the government and Green Party in many other ways. It's clear that the level of dissent within this coalition of chaos is even more dire than I had previously realised. Members of Parliament for the Green Party actively resented (and perhaps still do resent) the leaders of all other parties involved, and detested their histories and the policies they had worked to implement. Many harsh, unfair and oftentimes untrue comments were made about former colleagues of mine, and fellow Parliamentarians whom I consider to be friends whether in government or not. I think it a shame that the leaders of respectable, centrist parties continue to prop up a radical government which does not represent their moderate ideals -- ideals which are more readily found in the National Party.
"What's most pertinent for the general public, I believe, is the question of whether they can still trust this government to govern. I would think that the confidence in this coalition of chaos is greatly shaken, especially in the Green Party. Who's to say that /u/imnofox won't perform a similar feat of political suicide in future? Who's to say that other members of the Green Party don't equally resent TOP and United Future? /u/KilroyNZ certainly felt that way. How much of the general public are satisfied with the radical /u/Goatshedg returning to the Greens? I would also think that centrist members of the Labour Party are concerned by the entrance of former Socialists, and that of /u/TheOWOTriangle. And those who are inclined to support The Opportunities Party -- how do they feel about their significant reduction of influence in the government, and do they realise that one led by National would better suit their desires? Regardless, today has been an eventful one and is one which will not be forgotten. It's one which reflects poorly on the government, which reflects poorly on the crossbenches, and which reflects the ability of the National Party to stand strong and stable in its opposition to this shambolic government."
