More updated details on September 2022 Manawatū by-election
Post Body

Following the ban of /u/Winston_Wilhelmus, a vacancy has been created in the Manawatū electorate. The Governor-General has agreed to call a by-election in the electorate. While initially planned to be held on 10 September 2022, the Governor-General agreed to move the by-election to 17 September 2022 two days ago, due to the possibility of a snap election being called. However, given a government has now been formed, the by-election will be bought back to 10 September 2022. I promise this is the last change.

The timeline is as follows:

Sunday 4 September, 23:59: Nominations close -- candidates will be posted shortly afterwards

Tuesday 6 September, 00:00: Campaigning begins

Friday 9 September, 23:59: Campaigning ends

Saturday 10 September: Polling day, results will be released in evening

Candidate submission is open now, and parties and independent candidates may submit candidates here. All campaigning will take place on the /r/ModelNZCampaigning subreddit, and the titles of campaign posts should start with #Manawatū22. Examples:

#Manawatū22 model-putrid begins her campaign atop Mount Taranaki, seeking to offer a sacrifice to the elder gods

#Manawatū22 model-putrid apologises for ancient Satanic curse placed on electorate, offers new railway station to compensate

All candidates will have four (4) posts to make throughout the campaigning period. Leaders of parties not standing in the by-election may make one (1) post endorsing a candidate of their choice in the by-election.
