Honorable Members of the House of Representatives, it is a privilege for me to exercise the prerogative of Her Majesty the Queen and announce the formation of a new government with the confidence of the House.

The New Zealand National Party, ACT New Zealand and Heartland NZ have come to an agreement providing for a coalition government for the duration of the parliamentary term. Security, stability and good governance has been secured for New Zealand and this will be overseen by Prime Minister Griffonomics of the 7th National Government of New Zealand. My government aims to restore the people’s confidence in government, to bring prosperity back to our shores and establish concrete foundations for our future generations to achieve success as New Zealand continues to lead the world out of the international pandemic.

My government believes that the people know how to spend their money best and understanding how inflation plays havoc with household and business budgets across New Zealand, my government will act fast to ensure the reserve bank is free from political pressure to print money and suitably empowered to act independently to ensure the best interests of the Kiwi economy.

My government believes that fiscal responsibility is important, and like every other household budget in New Zealand, must be sustainable and balanced for this reason while we will aim to keep a budget that is balanced.

My government backs fiscal responsibility at all levels, it will expand the Office of the Ombudsman into all affairs local and work to ensure a thorough auditing process of all Council expenditure by non-council auditors for every long-term Council Budget so that all government money local and national is spent well giving value to taxpayers.

My government supports savers and those go getters needing loans to buy that car, to buy a first home and start that business. That is why my government will repeal the risk free return rate tax which hits hard working Kiwis who saved all their lives to retire hardest and hurts those that need loans by attacking our banking industry.

My government believes that the best welfare is a job. Giving every Kiwi the skills and opportunity to get a job. To this end my government will increase the proportion of funding per apprentice available to business owners and provide mentoring to Maori asset holders and businesses.

My government understands that one size does not fit all, in life nor in our diverse and beautiful country. My government will diversify the minimum wage to ensure that its rate is no longer a barrier to hiring workers without experience or who will be given substantial amounts of employer funded accredited skills courses via apprenticeships.

My government believes everyone should get a fair go, so we want to help every winery and restaurant in New Zealand more easily obtain off-licenses so they can more easily trade, and grow their business by offering new services and attracting new customers.

My government believes small airports are critical to many isolated communities bringing them much needed medical supplies but also tourists who support their economies. My government will back our small airports with legislation to give them a hand up while repealing the carbon tax instituted under the civil aviation act to ensure we remain a competitive tourist destination.

My government believes that primary industries are the backbone of New Zealand. To support our key sectors we will reform the Resource Management Act making the process of obtaining consents simpler but building community consent and removing red tape. My government will also restore farmer property rights adding special protections from compulsory purchases to ensure they remain productive and viable despite development.

My government believes that clean water is the right of every New Zealander. My government will support local councils to manage water, introducing legislation that will provide the necessary oversight and standards regimes needed to empower communities to hold those councils to account. My government's water bill will also ensure the worst performing councils reform by enabling ministers to intervene where leadership has failed as a last resort.

My government believes in honoring the service of our veterans and treating them with the respect and dignity that they deserve. My government shall expand the definition of veterans to the wider armed forces community to support all aspects of that community through overseas deployments, bereavement and with finding housing and transitioning to civilian life.

My government believes that New Zealand must retain and expand our extensive partnerships with our closest international partners. My government shall rejoin the Berne Convention and uphold its obligations in our statute law.

My government believes the best security in life is a home, that is why my government shall commission an inquiry into construction waste and monopolies in the sector to prevent price gouging and bring the cost of new houses down. My government shall also introduce rent to buy schemes to enable property ownership to be achievable for all incomes and all Kiwis.

My government is one which will be tough on crime, but fair on youth justice. By supporting prisoner rehabilitation through rewarding educational accomplishments, increasing community service, abolishing restrictions on volunteer rehabilitation services and  expanding the use of specialist courts, we can ensure young people are steered in the right direction in life and away from crime. However, this government will be a gang-banging government and we will attack the gangs at their core by recriminalising class A and B drugs. This government will increase maximum sentences for violent, firearm-related and sexual crimes, increase penalties for people who offend while on bail and require gang members to prove income is legitimate in criminal proceeds cases in order to protect Kiwi Families from the reign of terror the gangs will no longer hold. 

My government believes in safe homes so we shall ensure a high standard of fire safety with a common standard for smoke alarms across residential buildings, doing so will also reduce red tape making compliance with sensible safety advice easier, helping to bring down housing costs for hard working Kiwis.

My government believes that housing provided by the state must be treated well, kept in good condition and given to the most in need for this reason my government shall reinstate public housing tenancy reviews, introduce a three strike system for anti-social behavior in social housing and hold Kainga Ora directors personally responsible for shoddy housing conditions in all available public housing stock.

My government will restore New Zealand's crumbling basic infrastructure, committing to begin a plan to reseal all of our roads, making them safe. My government shall also work to remove the toll on the Northwestern Motorway beyond Albany connecting our communities and backing businesses in the area.

My government knows how important local clinics are to many communities in providing a first point of service for community health care. To back them we will reform the payment method for clinics to enable low income and dispersed communities to be better served instead of the current system based entirely on dispensed prescriptions.

My government believes the best joys in life come from family, that is why my government will legislate to allow both parents to take parental leave simultaneously so that parents have more options on how they look after their own health and the babies health and development after birth. My government will also support child welfare by ensuring that Oranga Tamariki cannot uplift Maori children and restore Maori children into the care of their Whanau.

My government will back real skills education, returning a tuition fees system with generous scholarships for in demand professions such as medicine for applicants who agree to work in New Zealand for a set number of years.

My government is a healthy government and will seek to ensure that the health and well-being of Kiwis is superior. By passing reforms to the PPPR act to protect individual autonomy and set ethics standards around research, my government can allow for individuals to better determine what is best for their own well-being.

My government will improve healthcare services by establishing birthing units in Lumsden and Wanaka, public private partnerships to build and upgrade hospitals, by reinstating national health targets and publish results as well as through a Rebuild of Hawkes Bay Hospital

My government will innovate and reform our school system, enabling genuine parental choice and greater flexibility for schools over the school day, term dates, curriculum innovation and teacher pay. The government envisages a school system with a great diversity of ideas and structures, including charters. My government also wants more child protection, by increasing qualified counsellors in schools and notifying local schools if a sex offender is nearby.

My government will also give special protections to Maori or Pacific Islander majority charters from a change in the schools status by central government preventing closure without the consent of parents.

My government is one of individualism and believes that for real societal change and success, well it comes from individuals themselves and hard work. This government will seek to instill these personal values of self-discipline, individualism and hard work into the Kiwi people. Through these values, New Zealanders can be guaranteed of a prosperous Golden Era which will leave every single Kiwi family, business and individual better off. It’s Time to Make New Zealand Great!
