I move that this House:
- Recognises that 39 years ago, the Solidarity trade union was formed in Gdansk, Poland
- Appreciates the civil society work done by the Solidarity trade union to develop a democratic society in Europe and the world
- Accepts that the Polish regime and the rest of the Warsaw Pact states were routine violators of civil and political rights
- Commemorates the 39th anniversary of the birth of this movement by vowing to oppose the inhuman treatment of people inherent to totalitarian ideologies
- Continues to support human rights movements at home and abroad in the future as a testament to the Solidarity movement
