"Today we saw the parliament pass our Green bill to abolish letting fees when renting a property pass it's third reading, and become law." says imnofox.
"These fees were unfair, and had no justification. It's no wonder we had so many people struggling to get into housing, even rentals, when they had these huge unjustified upfront costs to pay- sometimes even multiple times a year." says imnofox. "The letting fee is just another way for landlords to extract more money out of their tenants, to pay for services they should be paying for themselves."
"This change the law will make moving into a rental property both less stressful and more affordable. I am more than proud, after multiple terms, to see this bill finally passed into the law with the support of Labour, Socialist Aotearoa, and Reform, under the stewardship of the Green Party." says imnofox.
the Greens continued celebrating, passing round a blunt, and sharing a large pot of non-gmo hummus and celery
