The resignation of the Minister for Infrastructure only highlights the divisions in this unlikely alliance of a government.
"The ex-Minister cited the 'censorship' of cabinet collective responsibility, forcing him to defend illiberal policies of this government. The fact that he felt he needed to resign in order to defend basic liberal principles is astounding." says imnofox.
"This is yet another example of the government parties failing to work together constructively inside cabinet. We had the Reform Party leadership calling the Prime Minister a 'backstabber' on the campaign trail. We've now seen the Minister, who made his opposition to this government's policies quite clear, now resign in protest." continues imnofox.
"The Prime Minister is failing to listen to his coalition partners, his own caucus, or his Ministers. The Liberals have ignored all of the Honourable Goofgy's protests thus far, and they'll continue to do so. If the Prime Minister listened to his cabinet, communicated constructively, he'd never have his coalition partners attacking him on the campaign trail, and he'd never have Ministers from his own party resign in protest over his governments' policies." says imnofox.
"The reality is that the Liberal Party abandoned their principled liberalism when they got into bed with Reform. All of Goofgy's fruitless protests over this term have shown that there's little he can do to turn that around, especially in coalition with Reform or with Fresh3001 at the helm of the Liberal Party. Goofgy shouldn't kid himself- his resignation from cabinet will do nothing." says imnofox.
