The Green Party is shocked at the statement of the Minister for Defence claiming their greatest action in protecting New Zealand was restricting specifically Muslims from entering New Zealand.

"Aotearoa is a friendly and open country. We have respect and aroha for everyone, no matter their religion or race. New Zealand should not be taking Donald Trump's lead, especially not in this regard. All immigrants of all races and religions are welcome here." said /u/answermenow1.

"I will be seeking an explanation from the Prime Minister. The Minister should not be bragging about what is a clear violation of the New Zealand Bill of Rights Act by this government, which is especially ironic as the Prime Minister attempts to entrench it in law." said /u/imnofox.
