Green Party celebrates the failure of the government to repeal the Capital Gains Tax.
Post Body

"Today parliament voted on whether or not to repeal the Capital Gains Tax and the Sugar Tax implemented by the previous government. Despite being in a confidence and supply arrangement with the governing coalition, United Future unexpectedly voted with the opposition and stopped the government in its tracks." says imnofox, LOTO.

"This capital gains tax is an important tool for preventing property speculation, broadening the tax base, and simplifying the system. We're glad to see United Future stand up against the government and stand up with the Greens and the rest of the opposition for sensible policies."

"This vote is a blow against the government's credibility. This government has certainly shaken off all illusions of stability today."
