Joining voters for tea and a talk MP Chevalier discusses how the government are delivering for the people of Ashburton;
Heartland was founded on a simple idea to stand up for the little guy and give everyone a fair go, so everyday Heartland Ministers have been in office we have made sure that little towns like Ashburton and the hard working Kiwis in places like this are given just that a fair go.
From our aviation sector reforms which saw an end to Labour enacted monopolistic advantages for big aviation. Heartland fought for the little guy be it the small airline getting a chance to compete, your council owned airport not being given a tough deal by one single major customer and regular Joe's who just want decent service and a plane ticket that doesn't cost the earth. Yes Heartland has stuck up for the little guy all right.
And when it comes to taxes we tried despite the deficit and debt that we were left to keep your taxes low so hard working Kiwis could keep more of what they earned without big wasteful government taking it so they could fund urban gardeners in Auckland.
But when we did spend we were eagle eyed on the little guy, ensuring towns like Ashburton got their fair go. That's why a new bridge is coming to keep Ashburton connected and or infrastructure safe and our roads not gridlocked. By putting the little guy first Heartland will help New Zealand thrive!
