Speaking to a crowd of protesting Heartland supporters and a TV camera crew arranged to be on site by the Heartland press office Chevalier set up a soap box and prepares to give a speech but as he does so he notices a number of placards highlighting aspects of Heartland policy.
- Less Bull More Backing - Referencing the numerous ways the government have short sold New Zealand with wasteful spending such as support for urban gardens, rampant inflation and a chaotic trade policy. While Heartland offer real backing with an apprentice support fund, infrastructure investment to help water and transport needs.
- No Farmers No Food - Pointing out how anti farmer policies from alliance such as the tax on investment or the high minimum wage which will hurts farm profitability will hurt all of New Zealand in the pocket.
- Hands off my farm - Referencing how successive government have chipped away at farm property rights which Heartland promise to restore in their manifesto while also supporting farmers with debt with mediation to keep farms profitable and in family hands.
- Scrap Emissions Trading - A clear reputation of the emissions trading system that makes New Zealand industry less competitive and if applied to the agricultural sector while our key trading partners don't have such costs would make Kiwi products unable to fight for global market share costing jobs.

Trashman wont come out on to the campaign trail, so we have come to him! The Finance Minister is holed up inside while people want to know about the issues!
Why is the next government facing a $3 billion fiscal cliffedge?! Because he failed to establish fiscal discipline in the cabinet. And ARIchTeaBiscuit failed to fire a failed minister who's only achievement was to mire New Zealand in debt.
And when it came to spending the only help the government offers to hard working farmers is to urban gardeners unless you subscribe to the climate alarmism of alliance and agree to use less effective methods of production in the name of being greener.
Heartlands view is that the countryside was created by god and the farmer and that government should help farmers by enabling markets over seas to be exploited not micromanaging how land should be used or when or what techniques to use! The average farmer knows their land better than a autocrat in a Wellington office!
Government too should step back and leave locals in charge of their water policy, we must stop the Arden era take over of water infrastructure and reverse it to empower local communities to have control over this important economic and human resource. Instead of having them told what is best of them by the fancy suits in Wellington.
We should take inspiration from our hardy farmers too when looking at matter of policy, instead of telling them what to do the way they create from the soil should instruct government how to grow good jobs.
With good values of hard work, and spending within our means as every small business in New Zealand must government can learn some Farmhouse economics! With this lesson we will finally be able to get a grip of the out of control inflation which the country is suffering under.
And like the farmer government should be smart where it invests - investing to grow more and create real growth not simply a bubble and worse inflation!
This election Heartland have presented a clear break with the Alliance government - a balanced budget, control of inflation and level headed investment into our communities from skills to infrastructure to scientific services.
All the while the Alliance party is too ashamed to defend its pitiful record to voters. When you go home from this protest tonight tell your families and your communities what I said here and then get out to vote on the morrow because we have a chance to restore the Heartland! Lets take it!
