Talofa Lava and thanks for joining another ministry of health press conference. Covid-19 has been a constant issue that we have had to navigate over the last year, I am keenly aware of the vast sacrifice kiwis have made in order to maintain our ability to keep living our everyday lives as normally as possible.

It is with great pleasure that I am happy to announce the purchase of a combined 15 million doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech, AstraZeneca/Oxford, Novavax, Janssen, and Moderna vaccines by this government to help vaccinate Kiwis. We will fulfill the promises laid out by us later last year to purchase enough doses to properly vaccinate New Zealanders against Covid-19 with safety approved and trialed Vaccines.

Our rollout of vaccines will begin from tomorrow onwards, with the vaccines being provided free of charge to all Kiwis.
