Modafinil drowsiness
Post Body

I was recently prescribed 200mg modafinil (provigil) once a day, Ive taken 100mg the first four days, which was great but also strange because by the second time i took it I was feeling really drowsy for the first 4 hours. I took a day off and continued another four days only at 50mg, which I split myself from a half, and was okay. But today I took 100mg and I was drowsy again for 6 hours before I was able to feel awake. mind you, Ive had a cup coffee with every dose, with the exception of one when I had a celcius and that felt like a mistake because I was very anxious and jittery.

A little background, I was prescribed Modafinil in the past, about seven years ago, and I took 200mg for about a year and half. I work in healthcare and I used to flip-flop shifts from days to nights. Anyways, I took it then, I dont remember a problem nor any negative effects but then again I was 33 years old and probably didnt notice any. Moreover, It worked great then and I dont remeber having problems with sleep either. I dont have any now but I also am prescribed Lunesta for sleep.

Now, I take a quarter of what I use to take and so far Ive had mixed results. Im trying to find my right dose now before I get back to work, which are long 12 hour night shifts, but Im stumped on what works best for me. I feel like 50mg has been better than the 100mg but that also made me a little drowsy too but not as much as 100mg. I also take L-theanine with it.

I would love some input and if any similar experiences come to mind, I would greatly appreciate your perspective. Also, are modafinil breaks something to focus on? thanks guys.
