It needs to be addressed the fact that hate speech is allowed to be typed into the custom report feature. Especially on larger subs, the custom report response is abused way too often. It’s still a useful tool, however. Muting custom reports for seven days doesn’t fix the issue. As moderators, we should be able to report these responses for abuse, whether it be abuse of the report function in general, or people using it to attack moderators using hate speech.
For example, this evening I received a report on one of my comments as a mod that used a specific slur. Nothing else, just the slur. Why shouldn’t we be able to permanently mute that reporter, or at least report that person to admins so that the person using loopholes to anonymously use hate speech can be held accountable?
I understand the report feature is meant to be anonymous, but there needs to be a line drawn that defines abuse.
