The /api/selectflair
call supports a background_color
parameter when not using templates, which correctly sets the background color of the flair on New and Old Reddit and at least some third-party apps; however, these flairs all appear with a grey background in the official app.
The API documentation doesn't mention this caveat. (In testing, tho not directly related, I've also noticed that title and post background colors specified in templates aren't supported either, which also doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere.)
While we can work around this by just creating flair templates for each color we use, I first want to ask; is this behavior/lack of support intended, or is it simply a bug that can be fixed in the app? If the feature is deprecated/unsupported, it'd be nice if the documentation could mention that fact.

Thanks; would appreciate an update too, if it would be possible to give one, when this is fixed. I don't use the app myself, so it's hard to tell when/if things are fixed in it (I still don't know if the last major app bug I reported was ever resolved..).
This is still partly broken on Android as of 2022.21.0.492436; the background color is now set correctly for flairs assigned this way, but the text color for them is always dark, rendering some flairs unreadable when they should have been set to light. Can you please follow up so they know to fix this issue as well?
I have screenshots if needed, but seems pretty trivial to test. iOS seemed ok, but wasn't able to test it extensively.
