We need moderator tools that offer live feedback when changes are made.
Post Body
As a software engineer, a tight, responsive, nearly-immediate feedback loop is one of my most treasured tools and one of the things I love about programming. I love being able to see the immediate results of my work. This is something I just realized that I very much want to have in reddit's moderation tools, particularly AutoModerator. This is what I want:
- the ability to create collections of sample data to test AutoModerator rules against. ideally, it would be easy to create new collection entries from real posts and comments by importing them directly from the normal subreddit/post browsing view and the mod log.
- the ability to view a sample data collection, or live data from the subreddit, side-by-side with the AutoModerator rules editor and be able to see how config edits affect the data view.
- bonus: new graphical AutoModerator rule editor that makes it easier to build rules. having to refer back to the docs, which aren't always clear, is extremely annoying.
