Hi Admins,
We've recently observed a change in how you enforce the Content Policy, specifically Rule 4, Do not post or encourage the posting of sexual or suggestive content involving minors.
A noticeable amount of submissions that have been historically fine by you are getting removed by Anti-Evil Operations now (text posts: jokes, actual discussion posts, even posts asking for advice). Like, hard-hard removed, titles & post contents getting edited away. We're glad you're cracking down on the sexualization of minors, but we're also afraid that it's coming with the cost of removing submissions that shouldn't actually be removed.
I fully understand if it is intended, though. But please, consider our viewpoint as well:
r/teenagers provides a safe place for teenagers to discuss everything and anything with their peers anonymously. And at a scale of ours, there aren't many other places like it. Reddit's userbase is getting younger and younger, and I think you should welcome them instead of pushing them away. Adult topics are very relevant while you're young, and we think we should be able to talk about those things. It's an important part of growing up.
In the end, we're just looking for some communication. We're trying really hard to match our rules with ToS and the content policy, so please, help us understand what kind of stuff is allowed and what isn't, or if there's a blanket ban on adult topics being discussed by minors. Let me know if you need any links or such, I'd be more than happy to provide everything!
Thanks,
- hide & the r/teenagers mod team
