If I delete the comments, she'll label me, the sub, and the (mostly White/Hispanic US) town as racists.
If I leave the comment up, the next time a white supremacist makes a racist comment, they'll point to her comments and say that their comments should be left up as well.
What do do?
EDIT: I followed your advice, thank you. Then she deleted her Reddit account.
Thank you all for the great advice.
EDIT 2: About 1 hour later, the Reddit admins stepped in and removed the thread. Thank you Reddit Admins.
I didn't see the comments myself, but if a black person is denigrating a white person based on race in the USA it is not systemic racism at all. It's racial prejudice/discrimination. Like I said before.
Everyone needs to take a modern sociology class.
The user in question has now deleted her entire account because of the bad taste Reddit left in her mouth.
Nah baby white supremacist brain washing is the actual issue
Thank you. They're not going to get it, but thank you
Maybe it is needed, but 3-4 years ago when the modern content policy was new this was discussed! https://www.reddit.com/r/SomeOrdinaryGmrs/comments/ms11sg/admin_states_that_antiharassment_policies_do_not/ not a great subreddit, but it was the first example I found.
Admins have made it clear what is and is not acceptable.
BUT the amount of black users who have been temp or permanently banned, like the user in question here, for denigrating white people makes this extremely confusing for people who are aware. I get users from /r/blackladies and /r/blackmen who are reported and then banned for saying disparaging things about white people far too often. I'm not sure if these are AI driven bans or done by humans, but it's a huge problem. The wording of the rule and the enforcement of it don't match up.
I literally told him to remove her comments and ban her, but go off queen 💅🏽
I know for a fact that she has a lot going on and I also think it would be a huge waste of time for her to only address modsupport. It needs to be added to mod education resources and honestly there needs to be an agreement to enforce the content policy appropriately and consistently before becoming a mod. It's the bare minimum and yet... we see comment sections like this.
This whole thread makes me laugh honestly, white people can be so incredibly fragile
Please read the content policy
Edit: blocking me so I can no longer reply to you is extremely weird swrrrrg
Did I say she should get a pass Halaku? Tell me where I said that, quickly
He said her comments were racist and I explained how they aren't.
In a white supremacist country, black people do not have the power to be truly racist. She is being prejudiced and discriminatory, sure. If she's being an asshole, simply remove her comment and temporarily ban her. Who cares if she calls your town racist? Are you the mayor or something?
The downvotes are very telling. Nobody actually reads the content policy? It's made to protect marginalized and vulnerable groups

Now you're just saying words to say them.
Are white neighborhoods being redlined by black local governments? Are white people being denied mortgages by black banks? Are we having to write literal laws to protect white people from having the hair that grows from their heads discriminated against by black people? Are black governors and AGs trying to suppress the white vote? Are white people being killed at an elevated rate by police?
Again, take a modern sociology class. Just because a black person was mean to you once doesn't mean black people have the power to systemically oppress you.
