There was a recent change to show [deleted]
as the author of a removed comment (by human or AutoMod.) This is not useful because we often need to check the history of a user and make decisions -- was this a one-off incident, or a pattern? Does this user require a temp or permanent ban?
Used to be that we could long-press the removed name, pop up the profile, and see. Now it's a scan through the ModLog, and then manually typing in the username in search, then scan the results and open their profile. Very inconvenient.
Please use a different indication of "this was removed" and leave the username. Someone suggested an ❌️ next to their name. That would be ideal. Small, clear, and doesn't break moderation flow. Added bonus: we can then tell when a user account has actually been removed and requires no followup.
Moderation lasts beyond the initial remove. Please stop making that harder to do.
