That is currently (and has been) my one issue with this city that affects me personally. My son thinks he has to save every stray animal he sees and I love that about him. We have helped lots of animals in the few years that we have been here. Right now there is a big handsome doggy boy that has been running the neighborhood for days. We gave him food and water and made sure he's OK but my dogs want to eat him.
I called animal control yesterday morning. Nothing. They emailed me which will let me know if there are updates....none. I call the Animal Shelter, they don't take strays now and they say it's a city problem, not the county. The animal issue is a real issue problem here. It's not out of control yet but if it continues on this path it could be.
What can be done about this? What can/should the city do? If I am made aware of what the problems are now with whatever animal control services in place currently that are not working well are and what it is needed to help fix it, I am happy to talk with local government officials and the city council to push for that. I can be quite persistent about matters I care about involving our community.
TLDR- what is the problem with animal control? Why are they not responding to calls and how can that be fixed?
