I just finished reading volume 2 (although I've read the ExR translation in the past and watched the donghua/audio drama/CQL as well so feel free to post spoilers in the thread) and I had a question.

After everybody rushed into the secret mirror chamber hidden in Jin Guangyao's room, and Wei Wuxian unsheathes Suibian, thus exposing his identity, JGY mentions that MXY knew about the sacrifice ritual and could have used it to summon WWX into his body.

There's one particular line in the book that kind of confuses me. On page 347:

Everything Wei Wuxian had done was to avenge Mo Xuanyu, which meant Nie Mingjue's dismemberment must've been his handiwork too.

But did MXY and NMJ ever meet? I can't think of any reason why MXY would have had a grudge against NMJ in particular.

Or am I just reading too much into this and it's actually just saying that this is what everyone else present would have assumed? aka WWX as the evil and dastardly Yiling Patriarch just likes committing atrocities and this is a convenient excuse???
