Bud has gotten a lot of criticism for being a regular-season coach whose unable to make adjustments, but that's still better than where the bucks were before he took over. Pre-bud the bucks were trapped in the 8th seed/ bounced in the first round of the playoffs cycle for a couple of years, then when bud took over we suddenly had the best record in the lead, with one of the best defences. That first raptors conference finals loss was a tough pill to swallow for Bud fans, but the team was still young (in terms of time played together), then the Miami loss came after one of the strangest NBA seasons in History, combined with the loss of key role players from the team in the preseason.
We come to this year, and I think we are clearly a better team than we were in the last couple of years, and our win against Miami proved that. Getting beat so badly then can seem pretty bad, but when you consider that we are playing against a team that includes KD (one of the best scorers of all time, NBA champion, MVP, finals MVP etc.), Kyrie (NBA champion, probably the best purely skilled player in the game at the moment), Joe Harris (one of the best three-point shooters in the league for a few years running) and Blake Griffin (scumbag, but also considered a star until last year - in my opinion, he was just coasting so he would be released from the pistons because he's still very good) the result seems fairly predictable.
Don't get me wrong, I think Bud does have faults that he needs to address (e.g not playing stars, not taking timeouts) but I'm not sure that another coach could do a better job than him considering the Bucks roster.
TL;DR: Bud improved our team a lot when he took over and has faced some tough opponents since, should he be held responsible for our lack of playoff success and fired?
absolutely
