Easy Netplay Issues "Failed to download rom"

I am trying to use easy netplay between two miyoos mini . When I try to start an SNES game or use the easy pokemon trade mode, I always get the error "Failed to download rom". It usually happens on the second device trying to join.
I have the same roms between the two devices. I have tried CPS1 with easy netplay and that seemed to have connected fine. Hoping someone has an idea.
