Hey all, thanks for the add. We have an 06 outlander se. Unfortunately about 2 months ago it was in a front end collision. Less than 20 mph. However, after that collision, we started having an issue where when we try to accelerate, you can push the pedal nearly to the floor and it won't accelerate. We pull over, turn it off, turn it on, and then it seems to accelerate normally.
Had it into a mechanic over the weekend for this problem and others. He says his computer isn't communicating with the computer in the vehicle . He can't determine what it is and says the vehicle may need a new computer and suggested selling it.
We aren't interested in selling it as it has low mileage and last summer we put a lot of money into it. Also, not interested in giving someone else issues.
Any idea what it could be? I'm mechanically inclined, I just don't have a ton of time. Also don't have a ton if money for a new car at the moment. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks.
