Hemalurgy Question

If you used a Hemalurgist spike on a Mistborn, would you be able to steal all of the Allomantic powers or just a subset of those powers? My understanding is the spike has to kill the person, and each metal can only transfer certain powers. So how did marsh end up getting them all from a Mistborn?
